We are excited to announce our plans for Independent Bookstore Day, which is Saturday, April 27, 2019!
Independent Bookstore Day is a one-day national party that takes place at indie bookstores across the country on the last Saturday in April. Every store is unique and independent, and every party is different. But in addition to authors, treats, kids events, poetry foxes, contests, trivia and other fun stuff, there are exclusive books and literary items that you can only get on that day. Not before. Not after. Not online.
Why celebrate independent bookstores?
Independent bookstores are not just stores, they’re community centers and local anchors run by passionate readers. They are entire universes of ideas that contain the possibility of real serendipity. They are lively performance spaces and quiet places where aimless perusal is a day well spent.
Following, you will find our schedule of events for April 27, and the exclusive items only available at independent bookstores on this day:
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
All day–Crafts and coloring for kids.
All day–Free cookies!
9am-12pm–Purr Cup Cat cafe (back by popular demand)

The Purr Cup Cat Café is a not-yet-open coffee shop with cats! They do pop-up events around Raleigh to raise money for their café and for the Meow House Cat Rescue, which is where the kitties come from.
10am-8pm–Drawings for gift bags every hour on the hour (one for adults and one for kids).
10:30am–Under the Tree Story Time with special guest Cat in the Hat
